| Hi, my name is Patti.
Yoga Energy opened September 24th 2001
and was born out of my desire to share the many benefits I have
experienced from practicing yoga. Yoga benefits people of all ages,
it relaxes the body and calms the mind, reduces stress and creates
more energy. Yoga builds strength, balance and flexibilty. Flexibility
is not a prerequisite to practice yoga, one begins where the body
is at. If practiced with awareness yoga helps you take techniques
that you learn on the yoga mat out to your everyday busy life so
that you may live a fuller, healthier and happier life.
I have practiced yoga for over thirty years. More
recently and with the intention of teaching I have studied under
Aileen Hansen and Yogi Amrit Desai. Yogi Desai founded the Kripalu
Center for Yoga and now teaches his innovative approach in the form
of Amrit Yoga. I am a registered second level Amrit Yoga Instructor.
The sequence that I teach is a blend of yoga postures, breathing
techniques, concentration and witness consciousness, enabling the
body to release deep layers of tension. The emphasis is on awakening
the body's natural wisdom to unleash the healing power of prana
(energy). Yoga is a science of movement that origniated in India
over 6,000 years ago. Practicing yoga helps rejuvenate the spirit,
awaken the mind, and nourish the body. You will find Yoga Energy
a safe and inspiring place to explore your journey of yoga.
